Awaken is a non-profit organization that develops deeply committed disciples on college campuses through worship services and life-on-life discipleship.
|| Ministry Model ||
We primarily focus our ministry on college campuses. There are several reasons for this:
Services & Discipleship
Within the university context, we provide both worship services and discipleship opportunities.
We pray and believe that our worship services are anointed encounters where students truly meet Jesus. These moments are designed to be "holy invasions" of the Kingdom of God through the power of the Holy Spirit. Our sincere desire is for every individual who attends an Awaken service to undeniably experience the heart of God the Father toward them.
But we also know that "moments" of revival aren't enough. Humans require ongoing, continuous empowerment, training, and encouragement in order to grow into the likeness of Jesus Christ. The DNA of Awaken is to provide both small group and one-on-one discipleship opportunities for each student to grow deeper in their own relationship with God.
Awaken is based on the campus of Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, IN. We partner closely with the Dean of the Chapel's Office there to help in providing a discipleship experience to students. Every Thursday night of the semester, we provide two worship services (7 pm & 9:30 pm) in the Globe Theatre. Each of these services is worth chapel credit with the University. We also lead a discipleship and small group time each week on Tuesday nights (9:30 pm) in the chapel auditorium (2nd floor).
In Fall of 2017, Awaken launched on the campus of Taylor University (Upland, IN). The first semester included monthly worship events (Mondays at 9:30 pm in the New Prayer Chapel) and small group discipleship opportunities.
Additionally, Ball State University (Muncie, IN) has become the first secular campus on which our ministry operates. Starting in Fall of 2017, monthly worship events began being held on Tuesday evenings at Muncie North Foursquare Church. Group and individual discipleship opportunities will be offered as well.
Two times each semester, all of our college campus ministries gather together as one for a powerful worship gathering. These events allow students from different campuses to worship alongside each other and to catch a bigger picture of what God is doing in this generation.
